The second year of the engineering program is composed of two semesters. In the first (S7), students choose between three pre-specializations to deepen their knowledge, in the second (S8), they are invited to either individualize their knowledge or broaden their perspectives by choosing between six specializations and academic mobility.

The first year of the "Agronomy and Agrifood Sciences" master's degree has three highlights: a choice between 2 majors in the first semester (S7), a choice of between 6 specializations in the second semester (S8), and an individual professional internship that closes the academic year.

The teaching and research activities of the Department of Biology and Ecology lie at the interface of two scientific axes: agro-ecological transitions & predictive bioengineering. They cover a wide range of disciplines applied to plants, micro-organisms and animals: bioclimatology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, ecology, ecophysiology, genetics, physiology, systematics, epidemiology, and biology of plant, animal (zoology) and microorganism (phytopathology) populations.

International students are invited to come and complete the entire curriculum of a training programme at Montpellier SupAgro, and thus obtain the chosen diploma from the institution.

CAPeye is a monitoring, training and expertise unit focussed on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). It allows one to follow news about the CAP and understand changes in the policy. It is a tool that can be used by students and teachers, but also the media, professionals and researchers. CAPeye is managed from within the Department of Economics, Management and Social Sciences at Montpellier SupAgro.
