This three-year training program, taken after earning a master’s degree, is today an essential prerequisite for a student wishing to engage in research activities within public institutions, large companies or international organizations.
At Montpellier SupAgro, the training of PhD students is carried out in close cooperation with other universities and research organizations in and around Montpellier.
Programme
Language of instruction : In French and English
The programme provides an initial professional experience that allows PhD students to acquire not only scientific skills in multidisciplinary fields, but also to develop transversal skills and knowledge of economics.
Admissions
Candidates must have obtained within the past 4 years a Master of Science degree or the equivalent in the discipline chosen for the PhD.
Exceptions may be granted by Montpellier SupAgro, upon request from the PhD school, for candidates who do not hold the equivalent of a master's degree if they can demonstrate that their prior education or experience is the equivalent of the required level.

Fees
Each year: €391 + €103 Contribution Vie Etudiante et de Campus (CVEC) administrative fee
