Montpellier SupAgro’s scientific policy encourages the research results produced by its researcher-professors and PhD students to be shared on HAL - the national archive platform. It also encourages students' final dissertations to be valued. Montpellier SupAgro thus fully adheres to the Digital Republic linked to open access.
HAL: the multidisciplinary open archive of researchers-lecturers
HAL is the foundation of the national open access policy. The national dimension of the open archive was strengthened in 2013 by the signing of an inter-institution agreement reinforcing HAL as a common archive. In 2016, Montpellier SupAgro developed its own HAL portal, thus making the results of its research available to all while respecting ethical and legal guidelines, especially those related to copyright.
The HAL portal of Montpellier SupAgro thus renders it possible to access a vast collection of research results classified by department.
DUMAS: the open archive of Master’s students works
Montpellier SupAgro is committed to a policy of highlighting end-of-studies dissertations. Indeed, this so-called "gray literature" may include as yet unpublished data due to the exploratory nature of the work, or because the scientific formalization does not correspond to the standards of publication (...) but may be of interest to researchers, development officers, consultants...
Montpellier SupAgro thus opened a collection on the national portal DUMAS (a university depository of dissertations after they have been defended). Dissertations selected by teaching teams will be deposited there each year.
Montpellier SupAgro researcher-professors are invited to submit their research papers to the HAL Open Archives, however, these are also available on the ResearchGate social network.
