Comprehensive language courses are available for incoming mobility students during their stay at Montpellier SupAgro and through summer French language programmes (in July/August) with a focus on agriculture.
Language instruction at Montpellier SupAgro adheres to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and offers international accreditations and diplomas in English, Spanish, German and French as a Foreign Language (FLE).
Since 2018, all Montpellier SupAgro French as a Foreign Language (FLE) courses have been attributed an "FLE Quality Label".
Organisation
Languages are taught in small classes of 15 to 20 students lasting from 1.5 to 2 hours over 4 to 5 semesters. The teaching approach aims to develop essential communication skills in a globalized world of work (communicate by telephone or videoconferencing software, write an email, facilitate work meetings, make a presentation on a scientific subject, express oneself in public, argue and debate...).
The objective is to prepare students to master a language in a professional environment. The emphasis is more on know-how than knowledge.
Language tests
The Montpellier SupAgro Languages and Civilization unit comprises some 40 teachers and offers English (Living language LV1 compulsory), Spanish and German (LV2) and French as a Foreign Language (FLE) courses for incoming mobility students.
