Gaillarde Campus, Montpellier

In the heart of the city

Update : 01/14/2022

SupAgro has been located in Montpellier on Gaillarde Campus since 1871. Covering 27 hectares, the campus lies near the Peyrou Royal Gardens and the city’s historic centre.

Montpellier SupAgro has modern teaching and research facilities, a complete hospitality centre, including a 380-seat amphitheatre, student housing and catering facilities, and high-level sports facilities.

Primarily dedicated to training programmes, the central buildings located in the heart of the school were built in 1995-1997 next to the Château de la Gaillarde, a historic building that was completely renovated in 2001-2002. Students in the first two years of the engineering programme attend classes in these buildings (approximately 10,000 m²), where most of the training and education facilities are located.

An integrated campus

The campus has hosted INRAE’s Occitanie-Montpellier Centre since its creation in 1946 and houses more than twenty research units linking the school with INRAE and other partners. The close working relationship between these teams is beautifully illustrated by the creation on campus of the Institute for Integrative Plant Biology (2005) and the regrouping of the entire research capacities in soil sciences and agronomy of Montpellier SupAgro, INRAE, CIRAD and IRD.

The Institute for Higher Education in Vine and Wine (IHEV) of Montpellier SupAgro is located on Gaillarde Campus.
