02/04/2022

Chair Vine & Wine

The Vine & Wine Chair is held by Institut Agro, through its Foundation, associated with INRAE and the University of Montpellier. The Chair offers a prize of € 2,000 to reward a PhD thesis defended in 2020 or 2021, of high scientific quality, and falling within one of its four priority axes. Applications must be sent before 15 April 2022.

The Chair is designed as a think tank gathering companies from the wine sector and Montpellier's research and education teams to carry out actions of common interest related to Training, Research and Knowledge Transfer.

The objectives of the Chair are therefore to imagine, co-construct and implement collaborative projects that integrate into the wine chain the latest advances in research and into training new know-how and new approaches, in order to meet the expectations of society (environment, health, quality).

The Chair's work is structured around four priority themes:

  • Climate change mitigation and adaptation;
  • Reduction of environmental impact;
  • Improvement of wine quality in response to new consumers and markets expectations;
  • Foresight, imagine futures for the sector and prepare for them.
