The Vine & Wine Business Chair is held by Institut Agro, through its Foundation, associated with INRAE, the University of Montpellier, and a network of companies. The Chair offers a prize of € 2,000 to reward a PhD thesis defended in 2022 or 2023, of high scientific quality, and falling within one of its four priority axes. Applications must be sent before March 1st 2024.
The Chair is designed as a think tank gathering companies from the wine sector and Montpellier's research and education teams to carry out actions of common interest related to Training, Research and Knowledge Transfer.
The objectives of the Chair are therefore to imagine, co-construct and implement collaborative projects that integrate into the wine chain the latest advances in research and into training new know-how and new approaches, in order to meet the expectations of society (environment, health, quality).
The Chair's work is structured around four priority themes:
The three best candidates will be invited to present their thesis in front of the Strategic Orientation Committee of the Vine and Wine Business Chair. The price will be awarded by one of the chair’s entreprise, member of the KIM: Agrosud, Lallemand, or Mercier.
