For several years, L'institut Agro Montpellier with the CIHEAM-IAM.M have organized the "Language & Culture Summer Course”, to assist non-French-speaking students from around the world in improving their mastery of the French language (oral and written) and in discovering French culture. The 2025 edition will take place from July 7th to August 29th in Montpellier.
This immersion and intensive training period aims to promote the integration of students - beginner, intermediate or confirmed (from complete beginner to C1) – into our school or partner institutions where they will pursue training in engineering, master’s degree or PhD from the next school year.
A language and culture immersion
The daily practice of oral and written language is the main strength of the "Language & Culture" program. Students benefit from eighty hours of French per month punctuated by cultural activities.
But that's not all. Students will explore Montpellier and the Occitanie (former Languedoc-Roussillon region) through the social and cultural activities programmed. You will visit the Cité of Carcassonne, the largest medieval city in Europe with its walls still intact. Another destination is the city of Nîmes, home to one of the best-preserved Roman coliseums in the world. Join us and discover the medieval streets of Montpellier's historic centre, or Sète, such a nice Mediterranean city with its artists, specialities and traditions!
The "Language & Culture Summer Course” offers international students a unique opportunity to be fully immersed in the French culture with its language, habits and customs… including its gastronomy!
The objective is to prepare them to follow their master, engineer or PhD courses in optimal conditions through daily practice of the oral and written language. The intensive program in FLE (French as a Foreign Language) facilitates their integration, both into university life and into everyday life in France.
A tailor-made program
You will have the option of following the entire course or just a part, depending on your needs and availability. The price for the full summer course (French lessons and cultural activities) is €870 per month. Tariff does not include accommodation, food and other daily costs (public transport, insurance, leisure, etc.). You can opt to stay close to L'institut Agro Montpellier in one of our student accommodations.
