Objectives

The Soil specialization trains high-level experts, specialized in soil resources who are able to diagnose, innovate, and conduct research on issues related to current soil management questions.

These questions can be related to the degradation and restoration of soil resources, but also to the relationship between the concept of a global soil resources and agricultural development.

    Number of ECTS credits : 60

    Language of instruction : In French

    The course is organized around 5 subjects (30 ECTS):

    • General pedology and geomatics
    • Geochemistry of soils and solutions
    • Soil - Agronomy - Ecology
    • Soil management and conservation
    • Case studies and projects

    These are covered from September to December, with:

    • 70% of learning via practical work, including projects and fieldwork
    • Tutored lessons, some of them in ODL (open and distance learning) mode for further studies and personal projects

    Internships

    The 6-month end-of-study internship (30 ECTS, compulsory) takes place from January to June, in a research team, in France or abroad. This internship gives rise to an end-of-study scientific article or dissertation.
