EcoSystems seeks to train scientists to understand, measure and model interactions between living organisms, including humans, and the different components of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems using concepts and tools from functional ecology.
The aim is to cultivate in-depth knowledge of the mechanisms that govern the functioning of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. The focus is on understanding interactions between organisms, populations, living communities, and their abiotic environment at different scales of space (local to global) and time (over the past six decades, to projections for the near future).
