Vinifera EuroMaster is a master’s degree awarded by EMaVE, a European consortium of six major institutions that includes Montpellier SupAgro (in charge of coordination), Hochschule Geisenheim University (Germany), Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain), and the Universities of Lisbon (Portugal), Turin (Italy) and Udine (Italy).

Objective

Recognized throughout Europe, the Vinifera EuroMaster was approved by the Erasmus Mundus programme in 2008 and by the UNESCO Chair "Wine Tradition and Culture" of the University of Burgundy in December 2011.

This international master's degree responds to a demand for the training of high level international executives able to accompany the development and modernization of the vine and wine industry in many producing countries. It offers multidisciplinary scientific and technical knowledge to adapt to developments in the world wine sector and its markets. Graduates are able to:

  • implement viticulture and oenology techniques in production contexts
  • define production strategies and crop management sequences in relation with marketing
  • conduct experiments and research projects in the relevant fields.

  • Programme

    Language of instruction : In English

    The programme lasts two years with compulsory mobility in at least two European countries. The first year of the master’s programme takes place in France at Montpellier SupAgro (and in Bordeaux Sciences Agro), and is taught in English.

    For the second year, students choose a host country based on the specific programmes offered by the different partners and their language skills. In the second year, lectures are delivered in English with the exception of Spain, where instruction is in Spanish.
